'Sitting Pretty' is an original coloured pencil drawing. It depicts a girl wearing a red polka dot dress, riding a chestnut pony. Many, many hours have gone into this piece, building up layer upon layer in order to produce the rich depth of colour and level of detail associated with coloured pencil works. I've purposefully left the background loose and with a speckled texture in order to help keep the focus of attention on the main subject. The crop makes for an eye catching composition, worthy of gracing the wall of any horse lover or riding enthusiast's home.
Peter Williams is an entirely self taught artist working from his studio near the Suffolk coast. Having always had an interest in the natural world he exploits his passion for wildlife, both British and the more exotic as well as scenes inspired by people and places that have influenced him throughout his life.
