'Shadow Falling' is a graphite pencil drawing paper. A close up portrait of a timber wolf. I have been wanting to create a portrait like this for ages but couldn't find the right reference photo. Then I thought of a method I could use which was to take a photograph, crop it in two, discard one half and then flip the other before joining it back together all in Photoshop. I ended up with a perfectly symmetrical face which I then used for my reference for this drawing. With the addition of some dramatic lighting I achieved just what I was hoping for, a very striking and haunting portrait which draws the viewer right in.
