After the Serenade’ is a still life painting with a romantic theme, leaving the viewer to imagine the scene which has just taken place and to wonder what happened next. Using transparent watercolour I’ve used a glazing technique to build up the depth of colours, particularly on the violin body to ensure a richness and glow which can only really be achieved with my Daniel Smith paints.
Peter Williams is an entirely self taught artist working from his studio near the Suffolk coast. Having always had an interest in the natural world he exploits his passion for wildlife, both British and the more exotic as well as scenes inspired by people and places that have influenced him throughout his life.
